Department of Mathematics

The Department of Mathematics intends on creating students that are independent critical thinkers and practitioners of mathematics in our community, who will promote growth and contribute to advances in our society.

Welcome to the Florida A&M University Department of Mathematics

First and foremost, the faculty, staff, and mathematics majors welcome you to the world of mathematics. We consider ourselves "linguists" as we teach the fundamentals of the language of life from the most basic levels of mathematics through our senior level courses. The notion that this universal language called mathematics allows various disciplines to communicate is both exciting and empowering. We take this role seriously and are committed to teaching general mathematics courses to those majoring in non-science disciplines and laying the theoretical foundation while demonstrating the robustness of mathematics for those students majoring in the sciences, technology, engineering and especially mathematics.

The Department of Mathematics is comprised of 19 full-time faculty members and several part-time faculty (adjuncts).
